On July 18th, Giveaway of the Day was Liquid Story Binder - this is the writing application I use. So far, 55 new members on the yahoo support group.

For those that did get the deal, just a note from a user of this software for the last six months - it looks complicated to get into, but it completely depends on what bits of it you want to use. My most favourite are builders and chapters. I build scenes in a builder than build that out to a chapter. Wallah. Also like the galleries and note taking ability of builders for worldbuilding.

Description || Idea Cruncher Writing Software: Brainstorming, Outlining and Organizing Ideas

This is an interesting little piece of shareware software. It provides a simple tree outliner, but with a space for notes on each tree element. Useful for brainstorming, list making, and of course - outlining for writers. Good little PIM if you don’t need reminders to set, and quite quick to pick up and use, I’ve found.

Shareware, with a free trial for 30 days. The cost after that is $9.99 to register, and you get to make it a portable version also with the registration.

Writer's Blog: The Sequel to Marley and Me:

The Writers Write blog discusses the follow up book to Marley and Me, and also the feature film of the original book, with Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston staring.

I loved this book, on my own reading list of 2008, but am so far uncertain if I want to watch a hollywoodised version of it, especially if they take the comedy route. For me, it was about a real-life dog and a relationship - and cutting it down to a few minutes will be difficult. Coming out for Christmas this year, never-the-less.
